Twenty Eighteen

Happy MLK Day everyone!

We are already halfway through the first month of the new year. Can you believe it? Pretty soon Valentine’s Day will be here which is one of my favorite holidays!

2018 goals

This year, so far, I’ve set a goal of losing weight, starting up my natural body care line, and incorporating more planned family time.

I always seem to struggle with the losing weight part. Mainly because I tend to get so unmotivated and then randomly motivated at the weirdest times. Have you ever been laying in bed at night and then BOOM, instant motivation, only to wake up the next morning and put off all those goals and dreams another week? Yes, that’s me on a weekly basis.

The same goes for the natural body care line I’ve been wanting to do for a while now. I’ve done my research and know all the tools and products I need to make it happen but I just haven’t moved forward with it. This year I’m hoping to go ahead and leave more time to get it at least started. That way maybe the process won’t seem so long and I’ll have an idea of if it’s truly something I want to do.

And finally, I am making more of an effort to have more “planned” family time. Don’t get it confused, I spend time with my family but most of the time it’s sporadic and mostly during the common holidays. (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving) For example, today I took my son to see “Coco” at the movies for the first time. (He’s four years old) I was pretty apprehensive in the leading months because he gets extremely distracted. I didn’t know if it would be an experience wasted or not. But I want to start planning similar dates like that with my son. At least once a month now that I know he can handle it. “Coco” was a very good movie by the way! It definitely gives you that “Family is everything” vibe.

Back in action!

Hi guys! Happy “late” New Year! It’s been a while and I truly apologize about that. I’ve been on a small hiatus but I’m getting back in action.

So many things have transpired since my last post. Mainly, my grandpa passing away right before Christmas has been the biggest reason, but I’ve also been dealing with horrible migranes almost every other day. (If you get migranes, then I know you understand my pain) I’ve since received new medication for it so I’m feeling better and I’m ready to return to the norm.

I have so many things in store for you guys that I will be sharing soon! Things like : easy ways to earn extra money, new recipes, how to get free products and more beauty reviews, of course.

For my loyal readers, thank you for being patient and understanding. I love you guys!
Stay tuned!

Clarisonic Mia 2 Review

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Clarisonic and Her Campus Media. All words and opinions are my own. Clarisonic Mia 2 Deep Pore device.

So I had the chance to try out the new Clarisonic Deep Pore Mia 2 device. I received the device about a month ago and wanted to wait a good length of time so I could give you guys a honest review. I have always seen the Clarisonic device in stores but was a little unsure if I should splurge on it or not. The Clarisonic Deep Pore Mia 2 set I received includes a Mia 2 device, Protective Travel Case, Deep Pore Daily Cleanser, Deep Pore Detoxifying Clay Mask and a Deep Pore Brush Head.

First, I must say this device is AMAZING! The Clarisonic Mia 2 is so gentle on my skin which I absolutely love. It’s also lightweight and easy to use. It gets my skin six-times cleaner than manual cleansing, and in turn, all my other skincare products work better. My face is really oily and acne prone so this deep pore set is perfect for my face. I have no issues using my device daily, but like with any beauty tool, starting out slowly is best.

How to use

The Clarisonic Mia 2 Sonic Cleansing Device features two speeds suitable for all skin types, delicate and universal, that cleanse skin 6x better than hands alone. The Deep Pore Cleanser and Mask are perfect for removing impurities, controlling oil and refining enlarged pores. The first time you use your brush, I recommend you fill the entire inner circle with cleanser (about a quarter-sized amount). Then, you can adjust accordingly for your skin type. Just like your toothbrush, you need to thoroughly soak your Clarisonic in water to get the ultimate pore-cleaning action. Use it in the shower or bath (it’s waterproof) and enjoy cleaner, softer, smoother skin in just 60 seconds a day.

Overall, the Clarisonic Mia 2 is a great device for anyone and Clarisonic devices are the #1 most recommended skin cleansing devices by US dermatologists. Clarisonic’s award-winning products are distributed through dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons, spas, prestige retailers and online at

Christmas is fast approaching so this would also make the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one. Visit this link and use code HERCAMPUS to receive 15% off your purchase.

Happy Cleansing!

Vera Wang Embrace

“This post was sponsored by Vera Wang Fragrances as part of an Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.”

I’m such a big fan of fragrances but sometimes they tend to give me a headache or give me a stuffy nose if it’s too “loud”.

Some fragrances even tend to come off as “grandma-ish”. Does this ever happen to you? Have you ever wanted a fragrance that made you feel beautiful? What about a fragrance that even made you feel like you were on a summer getaway? Well, I’ve found it! The brand new fragrance from the Vera Wang Embrace Collection, Marigold and Gardenia. <3

The eau de toilette is subtle and bright, floral, but not too overdone. It has just the right balance for a sophisticated and pleasant scent. The fragrance draws inspiration from celebrating intimate moments to be cherished and embraced. We all know that memories are strongly linked to the sense of smell, and this is a scent I’m glad to remember.

Being confident is a very important aspect in one’s life. We, always need to have faith in ourselves to be confident.

There are many things that boost up my self-confidence. Motivation and appreciation are two things that help me to be confident. The love, support and care shown towards me by my parents make me confident. The most important thing that gives me self-confidence is when I am on the right path.

It’s important we make time to celebrate ourselves and embrace being a woman and the new Vera Wang Embrace Marigold and Gardenia allows you the opportunity to feel fresh, confident, and beautiful.

“Feel confident and beautiful in your own skin” is the message Vera Wang wanted to convey with this scent and she hit it right on the nose. It is intensely feminine, but not overpoweringly girly; It is a grown-up scent for a confident woman. The scent is so beautiful it’s become one of my favs.

Flaming Hot Cheetos Wings

Flaming Hot Cheetos Wings

Here is another recipe that my boyfriend and I tried for Super Bowl earlier this year. He was initially going to make ranch wings but I showed him this recipe on Pinterest and we decided to give it a go since we had all the ingredients.

Here is what you will need:

-1 bag of uncooked Chicken
-1 bag of Flamin Hot Cheetos
-1 bottle of Ranch dressing

First you will need to prepare your chicken as normal. (wash & season) And preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

After that, take your Hot Cheetos and crush them up real good. I don’t have a blender so this was the hard part for me. I stomped the bag and hit it with a hammer a few times. (sounds crazy, I know lol) Try to get it to a powdery substance.

Once you have them crushed, pour them into a bowl and pour your ranch into another bowl.

Now it’s time to coat the wings. First dip them in the ranch, then in the cheeto crumbs and lay them on a pan.

Lastly, Once they are all coated, place in the oven for about 45 minutes.

And VOILA! All done.

Hope you enjoy! Feel free to switch up the recipe to your liking. I heard the Doritos version is pretty yummy also!
